I'm a Research Fellow at the Melbourne Institute Applied Economic & Social Research and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families over the Life Course. I'm also a Research Affiliate with CESifo and the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute at the Crawford School of Public Policy (ANU).
I'm a public economist specialising in taxation and government policy. My work focuses on three main areas: taxation, education, and early childhood, with gender, poverty, and inequality cutting across them. I examine:
How student loans affect university enrollment and post-education outcomes
How tax and welfare policies influence behavior around childbirth
The efficiency and distributional impacts of the tax and transfer system
I also contribute to the Breaking Down Barriers Shared Data Environment (BDB-SDE) and the Community Tax Project at the Melbourne Social Equity Institute.
I hold a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, an M.S. in Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain (Academic distinction), and a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2020 (Summa cum laude).
